WYMONDHAM COLLEGE
ABOUT US - PRINCIPAL'S COUNCIL
Principal's Council is a group of Year 13's making changes within the College to make students experience better, as well as fundraising for the charities chosen by the previous Principal's Council. Each person has a responsibility, which you can see below who best to contact regarding that responsibility.
To be elected into Principal's Council there are several things you need to do. The first is writing a short piece about you, your achievements and maybe what you plan to do. The second is hustings, where each candidate stands up and gives a talk. It may sound daunting but it is only 2 minutes long. There are several ways of doing this, such as a poem or basing it on a metaphor, be as inventive as you like! These are normally very funny and entertaining. Each person within Year 12 uses a voting slip and each of the 12 members of the group are elected by proportional representation and announced.
Of these 12, some choose to go for Head Boy or Head Girl. These few write a second paragraph for the Principal and go for an interview. The Principal selects the Head Boy and Girl and the deputies. Finally the Head of the JCR is elected and this makes up the full thirteen of the Principal's Council.
If you have any requests or would like to propose a change please email us on principalscouncil@wymondhamcollege.org. Below you can see our specific responsibilities. If your email fits within these responsibilities please add our name to the email.

OUR HEAD BOY
OUR HEAD GIRL
Hello, my name is Naume and I am honoured to be the Head Girl for this academic year. As someone who has been a boarder since Year 7 I have come to recognise the College as a second home and somewhere that has helped shape me into the person I am today. Ive enjoyed many activities throughout the years ranging from writing for Fry Hall's boarding house magazine to last year being able to be a journalist for the College magazine. I have had the chance to represent my house in the Mair Cup, Sports day and interhouse debating and I have also had the chance to represent the College in fixtures, charity events and the Model European Parliament.
This year a lot of big changes are happening in the College but we want to ensure that no matter how big or small your concerns are we are hear to listen and take note.
Along with helping make the College better in any way we can this years Principal's Council want to make the world a better place too. Our international charity for the coming year is Cool Earth. Cool Earth works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction. We also have a national charity which is Heads Together which is supported by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. This charity helps to raise awareness to mental health and provide vital support to those suffering.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me via the Principal's Council email or if you see me about come and say hello.
